Mplayer osx extended for mac1/14/2024 If you have an older dual core mac, which is struggling with HD video playback, give Mplayer OSX Extended a try. A brief description of my laptop is below. VLC is great for most situations, but MPlayer OSX Extended has a secret weapon that helps with HD video playback. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated. I have never had a problem with MplayerX and I really am at a loss on what to do at this point. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling MplayerX several times taking extra care to clear all its files from ~Library and /Library including Preferences, Caches and a bunch of other locations but the problem persists even after fresh installs. Just to clarify almost all of my videos are now playing with black bars on all four corners of the video. Sometimes original size toggles it to fill the screen and sometimes it causes it to shrink even further. In addition, other videos have their embedded subtitles cut off after fillscreen has been toggled. Before when I opened a video file for playback it would fill the edges of the screen automatically but recently (and maybe after updating to High Sierra) the video plays in its own little black window and toggling fill-screen does fix the problem but only for *some* video files. *** libdvdread: CHECK_VALUE failed in libdvdread4/nav_read.Recently, I ran into some problems with MplayerX and it has been really frustrating. endpos also accepts the pretty 00:01:40 style format. Second line after -dvd-device is the path to your VIDEO_TS folder. otherwise you'll need to adjust it to point to your mplayer binary executable. if you're on a mac and put mplayer os x extended in your applications folder then it should be identical for you, can just copy and paste. it's just to keep the parts of the command separate and easier to look at and talk about.įirst line is just the path to mplayer. This document pertains primarily to unix (mac os x, linux, etc) users, though you can use mplayer under windows, too. For about two years I've been using MPlayer OSX Extended for playing MPEG2's and VOB's.
